Two of the porn actors recently diagnosed HIV-Positive used an emotional press conference today to call on the industry to require all performers to use condoms and criticized the length of time between testing - as a third performer believed to be infected with the virus came forward publicly. Actors Cameron Bay and her boyfriend Rod Daily spoke at an event in Hollywood organized by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation and said that they learned days apart last month that they were infected as the industry reels from the news that up to four different actors could have the deadly disease. Fighting back tears, the pair said that the recent outbreak of HIV infections proves the industry wrong when they say testing performers for the virus and other sexually transmitted diseases every 14 days is sufficient. However, Mr Stone is said to be hopeful that his results were a false positive and is awaiting confirmation. Another performer, identified only as John Doe spoke by telephone to the conference where he revealed to be the fourth performer the AHF said had tested positive last week. He said that this made him assume that the infection occurred while working on set. Stone, who has worked in porn films for over three years said that despite his initial positive identification, he now believes his results are false-positive. 'It’s looking like a false-positive, but we’re still not 100 percent sure about that,' Stone said. AHF president Michael Weinstein commended the four who had come forward and called them courageous. 'Four performers step forward in the very heated environment that we’re in and speak about things of a personal nature, it takes an enormous amount of courage,' he said as the AHF noted that the moratorium on porn shoots will lift this Friday.
Indeed, according to to RadarOnline the moratorium could be lifted this week, after actors Cameron Bay, 29, and Rod Daily, 32, as well as two unnamed performers, received positive tests in recent weeks. 'All adult industry performers will be asked to go get new tests this week and as long as there are no new positive tests, production could resume late this week or early next,' the website reported. Last week, Cameron Bay, one of the adult film actors who recently contracted HIV, called for more porn producers to encourage the use of safe sex on set. The actress says she was naive to trust industry STD tests and said other performers told her not to ask for condoms. 'I learned that there's always someone younger and sexier, willing to do something you're not,' Bay told the Huffington Post. 'I think we need more choices because of that. Condoms should be a choice.'
click here to see the movie But now Radar has reported that some porn studios have continued to film against the moratorium, even with huge fears of an HIV outbreak. Their industry source said: 'It's stupid, selfish and dangerous. The industry is against using condoms because it would affect tape sales, but it'd be like allowing people to race cars without helmets on!' Bay tested HIV positive in August. She was then followed by an actor who goes by the stage name of Rod Daily. Daily announced over Twitter that he had been diagnosed with the virus. 'Drumroll please!! I'm 32 years old and I'm HIV positive. Acute HIV, which means I recently was infected. For that I am blessed,' Daily wrote. 'I'm blessed for the fact that I caught it so early that I can blast that s*** with meds. 'With the tests I have done the doctors have figured out that I was infected within the last month...My antibodies just showed up on a test this week which is scary because they didn't a week ago,' he said in two other tweets.
